Daisy credits her sister Ava, a previous School Captain and current teacher-in-training, as a major source of support and inspiration throughout her leadership journey. “If I ever needed help with anything, Ava was always there to support me,” Daisy said. "I really value her experience and opinion, and I look up to the way she handles things. Having someone like her in my corner has been a huge help."
Daisy’s leadership journey began even before her time at Albury High, having served as School Captain at Albury Public School in 2018. That early experience set the foundation for her leadership skills and helped her navigate the responsibilities she took on at Albury High.
In addition to her leadership role, Daisy has excelled as an athlete, with soccer being a major part of her high school experience. A passionate player, Daisy was an integral part of the Albury High soccer team and represented the Riverina in soccer every year since Year 8. "Being a part of the Albury High soccer team was definitely one of the highlights of my time here,” she recalled. “Going on trips with friends and playing soccer was always such a fun experience. It felt great to show the city girls how good us country girls are!"
Beyond soccer, Daisy also competed in swimming and participated in the Riverina Swimming Carnival, further showcasing her athletic talent and commitment to sports.
As for her future, Daisy is currently exploring several career paths, with a strong interest in sports, health, and science. “I’m still figuring out exactly what course I want to do,” she shared. “I’m considering sports science, physiotherapy, nutrition, or occupational therapy. I’m taking a gap year to work and travel, which will help me figure out the right path for me while I try new things.”
During her gap year, Daisy will be working around 30 hours a week at Bakers Delight, gaining valuable experience and broadening her horizons before committing to her university studies.
