Albury High School had the honour of hosting newly returned Paris Olympian Jocelyn Bartram on September 4th. Jocelyn graciously shared her wealth of experience and insights with our students. As a distinguished goalkeeper for the Hockeyroos, she has played over 100 games for Australia and is the second Hockeyroo goalkeeper from our school, following the legendary Evelyn Bender, who represented Australia in the 1984 Olympics, and the third Hockeyroo behind Linda Harvey.

During her visit, Jocelyn delivered a motivational talk emphasising the importance of balancing academics and athletics. She also conducted a hands-on coaching session with our senior girls' hockey team, who were preparing for the NSWCHS Final in Bathurst. Jocelyn’s expertise and encouragement were invaluable as the team geared up for this significant competition.

In addition to her coaching, Jocelyn took time to interact with students, posing for photos and signing various items, including bags, sticks, and hockey balls. Her presence provided a tremendous boost to our students and athletes, inspiring them to pursue their own goals with determination.

Currently, Jocelyn is pursuing a medical degree at Notre Dame University in Fremantle, complementing her background in Sports Science.

Thank you, Jocelyn, for inspiring our students and sharing your journey with us!

Jocelyn became the 6th alumni from Albury High School to represent Australia at the Olympics, following:
