A Deck to Remember: Year 12 Construction Class Completes Major Project
Over the past two and a half school terms, Albury High School’s Year 12 Construction class has been hard at work on their major project—an impressive timber deck built in the school’s Western Area.
In May, students had the opportunity to showcase their work to proud family members, friends, and staff during a small celebration recognising their achievement.
Under the guidance of VET teacher Mark Peter, the students demonstrated not only their technical skills but also their dedication to seeing a complex project through to completion.
“I am so proud of these boys,” said Mr Peter.
“I put a massive task in front of them and they have gone above and beyond. Hold your heads high, because this is an incredible accomplishment.”
The deck, now a standout feature in the school playground, will serve as a valuable space for both learning and leisure for years to come.
VET Support Officer Gavin Fletcher praised the group’s effort, stating, “This is a credit to the students’ commitment to complete this significant project. It is also an illustration of the dedication and guidance that Mark Peter provides to his students.”
The school community extends its congratulations to Mr Peter and the Year 12 Construction class for their outstanding work on this valuable addition to Albury High School’s outdoor spaces.
